The 2009 Bee Census survey is
ready for your input! This site if
maintained by volunteers from the Marin County Beekeepers. You do not need to be a member of Marin
Beekeepers to participate. All
interested beekeepers are encouraged to contribute. (You are welcome to send the survey links on
to any beekeepers you think may be interested in participating.)
Please take a few minutes to
share some info on your bees. There’s
been lots of buzz about problems that many people experienced with hive losses,
but unless we can quantify this info, we really won’t know what is happening
with bees in the area. We are committed
to a minimum of 5 years of doing this survey, so it would be great to have as
much info as possible now so we have something to work from as a baseline.
The survey consists of 30
questions and can be fully completed in 3-10 minutes. If you only want to contribute the
information on your city/state/zip, how many hives you had/acquired/lost during
the last year, you can complete it in a couple of minutes.
Please be assured that all
personal information will be kept confidential and not be shared or sold. Only general data will be made available in
the results.
Thanks for your
participation. If you have any questions
or comments about the survey,
please ask: info@beecensus.com.
A big thanks to all who
commented on what they would like to see in the survey. Special thanks to Beth Renneisen
and Diana Sylvestre for providing survey templates
they have used in the past.
